Every Rose Has Its Thorn - Valentine's Mani with Pueen 22 and OPI Danke-Shiny Red

First Valentine's Day Mani for the year. I felt like it was a bit too early to go all out with pink everywhere so this is a darker, more subtle Valentine's mani.

Products Used:
Sally Hansen - Black Heart (2 coats)
OPI - Danke-Shiny Red (2 coats) also used for the stamping (photographed more orange)
Pueen 22 from the Sumptuous Set

This idea looked better in my head. It didn't come out so great. The stamping didn't show up that well on the nail. It somehow showed up better when I tried it on paper over black. I do like it when it catches the light and shows up though! Otherwise it's not that visible. Also since my Konad stamper is a dark pink it was a bit hard to see the design on the stamper and line it up properly... the edges of the roses are a bit cut off :(

Personally I think this mani would look better if I did all my nails in black with stamped red roses... Instead of just the double accent nails. Or maybe if the red I used on the other nails was darker... hmm

This mani was inspired by my Lancome makeup case (free gift with purchase from several years ago). It's kind of beaten up... I use it everyday!

What do you think of this mani? How early is too early to start doing manis for a holiday?

  2. Thanks Lisa! I guess sometimes mani ideas don't turn out exactly as planned but they can still look nice :)
