I was a bit stuck on this theme... I rarely ever do Ruffians! I went on Google Images for inspiration and really liked this skittle Ruffian look by Didoline and this blue and grey Ruffian mani by Escape by Beauty. I decided to combine both and do a skittle Ruffian with grey.
Gray: Color Club - Sheer Disguise
Ruffian colors:
Index: Color Club - La Petite Mint-sieur
Middle: Color Club - Blue-Ming
Ring: Color Club - Endless
Pinky: Color Club - In De-Nile
Initially, I was going to try to freehand the Ruffian shape... But as you can see my skills aren't that great haha. So I ended up using these French Tip Nail Guides from Born Pretty Store to create the lines instead (except my pinky). Use my code SL10k31 for 10% off! I wish the guides were a bit more curved but otherwise I liked them and found them easy to use.
Don't forget to show the other Twinsies some love!

ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! :)
DeleteHi dear! It's a pretty nail art this one! ♡ I've to try it too! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Ya you should try it... This nail art isn't too hard :)
DeleteI have to buy the nail tips guide and to have the inspiration!! Kisses :*
DeleteThere super cute. I really like the light pastel colors you chose.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! :)
DeleteNice mani and I like these pastels :-D
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I LOVE the contrast of colour grey with the pastels, its subtle but ever so pretty! :D xx
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this color combination!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sara!
DeleteThese colors all work so well together! This is lovely!
ReplyDeletevery beautiful and outstanding nail art :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteI love this, and I wish I had thought of using tip guides!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon! Ya the freehand wasn't going well for me... But the tip guides weren't as curved as I wanted them to be :(
DeleteTip guides are very useful when it comes to such kind of nail art. I love that you used different colors for your ruffian nail art!
ReplyDeleteYa I just wish the tip guides were more curved for this design. Thanks! I usually don't really like the skittles look but I liked the skittles ruffian when I saw it since it's just a small area and not the entire nail
DeleteI love that you did a pastel skittle - lovely colour combinations. I had the same issue as you, i.e. not having curved French guides. I freehanded mine in the end and they look a bit wonky. Should just have gone with shallow curves after all.
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire! Hopefully one of the indie nail vinyl brands will make more curved ones for ruffians :) maybe I should suggest it haha
DeleteTip guides do not work on my nails at all! I love the colours you picked out.
ReplyDeleteYa they didn't work that well for me either but my freehand lines were terrible lol :(
DeleteThanks! I'll probably try the color scheme again with another design :)
While doing french manicure, I tend to use those tips but with ruffian, I find them more demanding than freehand :D I love the pastel colors you used :)
ReplyDeleteYa sometimes the guides do actually make it harder haha thanks! I love pastel colours
