Today's Twinsie Tuesday prompt is to recreate a fellow Twinsie's mani. I decided to recreate Amber / Nails Like Lace's mani inspired by her Jord wood watch. I've actually been eyeing this Jord watch I really love the prominent and irregular wood grain of the Zebrawood!
What I Used:
Index: Avon Moonbeam (2-3 coats) + China Glaze Fairy Dust
Middle - Pinky: Color Club - Overboard (2 coats) + Born Pretty Store Studs
I haven't used any charms on my nails in a while... I should use them more often. It's a really easy way to add interest to an otherwise plain mani! The back of these square gems was flat, but since they are so small I didn't have any issues with them sticking up. I lost the gem on my right middle finger on the second day. The other 5 stayed on for 4 days though before I removed this mani. The gems come in a pack with other charms and are good value. Don't forget to use my code SL10K31 for 10% off!
To stick on the studs I applied top coat, waited until it was about half dry, and then stuck on the studs. I found it easiest to pick up the studs with my finger (like you would pick up a contact lens) and then touch my semi-wet nail to the stud (to avoid accidentally dropping the stud in the wrong spot). Since the back is flat you can slide it around a bit if you need to adjust though. I finished by applying another coat of top coat seal in the gems.
Don't forget to show the other Twinsies some love!
