Color Club Flickr Pink + new shape!

If you follow me on Instagram (@lovestrucklacquer) you may have already seen this but I'll post it here again anyway! I reshaped my nails while I was gone!

New trapezoid shape. My index and thumb nails have really V shaped white tips and I got really annoyed with the corners curling with my square nails but didn't want to go almond/oval because the last two times I tried that my middle finger nail snapped :( my middle-pinky finger nails have more straight across white tips. I'm hoping this hybrid nail shape will work for all my nails... They feel more sturdy than when I was trying to grow out almonds since they are still square and still reasonably wide. There also isn't as much free edge vs almonds so I'm hoping they don't snap off again!
This shape is inspired by @victoriac07 (I saw this shape on her on tumblr a few years ago... can't find the original picture... apparently she actually ended up with this shape when one of her almonds snapped) and @hausoflacquer

I feel like when they are painted the trapezoid shape isn't that obvious. I guess maybe because the polish is a bit thick? I used 3 coats here but 2 probably would be okay if you aren't taking such close up pictures. The third coat was just to cover a tiny bit of VNL.

Here's the new nail shape from another angle. I'm a pretty small girl (5 ft 2 in! lol) and I have really tiny little kid hands. I hate how short my fingers and nail beds are! I feel like this shape helps to elongate my fingers

Okay and back to the polish... umm wow I've never had my camera do this to me before! I swear I didn't pick up the wrong bottle... for some reason my camera screwed up the color of my nails but not the polish bottle... wtf?! It's a bit darker and more red than the bottle color but it's definitely not orange. In real life it is a dark yet almost neon magenta... if that makes any sense haha.

Formula was good! I used 3 coats here but 2 probably would be okay if you aren't taking such close up pictures. The third coat was just to cover a tiny bit of VNL.

This is another polish I won in Color Club's giveaway and I don't think it is available for purchase.

I feel like everything in this post is out of order lol but forgive me I am still very jetlagged! I will try to reply to everyone's comments later today :) thank you all for leaving me so many nice comments while I was away!

  2. You're right, the shape isn't as noticeable when painted, but I can see it on your naked nails - I like it! I find my nails start tapering too and with square nails the corners are so easily snapped :/

This is a gorgeous shade of polish!

  4. I like this new nail shape :) I hope it will work out for you. No more breaking. I think every nail artist really knows how painful it is to have a broken nail. :( that's a beautiful color too! Too bad the camera is trolling you. Maybe you can try to adjust the hue in photoshop? :)
