Happy Accident Gradient Watercolor Waterfall

Sorry I haven’t been posting much! I went on a bunch of weekend trips and haven’t had much computer time lately... which has been nice in a way actually! It’s nice to disconnect sometimes. I’ve still been doing my nails though! I just need to get them all posted now!

Here’s a mani I did a few weeks ago. I started off aiming to recreate this mani by Mimi from Makeup Withdrawal. I really love the color combination! So beautiful!

Unfortunately as I was doing my gradient, a glob of stringy polish fell off my sponge and landed on one of my nails :( I tried to clean off the glob with my clean up brush and a bit of acetone. I accidentally went through the top layer of the gradient as I did so, but I thought it was a cool effect so I ended up doing this on all my nails. I used my small, angled clean up brush dipped in acetone and went up and down my nails in alternating directions to create this effect. Kind of similar to the watercolor technique but more controlled. The end result kind of reminds me a bit of Sammy aka the Nailasaurus’ waterfall manis

Polishes used:
Layla No. 23 (white)
OPI - Dim Sum Plum
OPI - In the Cable Car Pool Lane

Here’s a rare look at my Cinderella hand. My cuticles definitely aren’t too pretty on this hand lol. This hand ended up being more abstract and irregular with the gradient/watercolor/waterfaII lines. Which do you prefer?
