Teal Creme/Texture Chevrons with Born Pretty Store Nail Vinyls

Hi everyone! Sorry for going missing for a while... I went to Mexico for vacation and was planning to do a few posts on the plane but I totally forgot my SD card at home so I had no pictures to work with :( and while I was there I got some pretty bad food poisoning and ended up having to call in sick to work Monday and Tuesday... it also rained the entire time so I didn't even come back with a nice tan :'(

Anyway today I have a review of some nail vinyls I ordered* from Born Pretty Store. Use my code SL10K31 for 10% off! I haven't tried any nail vinyls before so I'm reviewing these on their own without anything to compare them to.

I think these are good value. You get 16 packs like these... Depending on the design you get 2 columns x about 15-19 lines of stickers.

The vinyls are fairly wide. For the chevrons I ended up cutting them in half and they were still wide enough to cover my nails and peel off easily. They are definitely wide enough that they could also be used vertically on the nail, even if you have very long nails! Here is a picture of HALF a nail vinyl on my nail.

These vinyls only come in white so it would be a bit harder to see them over a white base, but on the plus side you wouldn't have to worry about them bleeding. Again I haven't tried other nail vinyls before so I'm not sure if they would bleed... I've had some pretty bad bleeding from striping tape though

I used tweezers to peel off and place these nail guides. I found they were much stickier than striping tape. They stayed right where I put them! I didn't have any issues with them lifting at the sides like I normally do with striping tape! I was a bit worried that they would pull off my base polish since they were so sticky but they didn't! I'm very impressed! :)

I made sure to peel off the nail vinyls quickly, while the polish was still wet to get nice clean lines. I have to say peeling off nail vinyls is strangely satisfying haha

My only complaint is that I noticed a few of the points were not fully cut and I had to tug a bit while holding onto the sheet to peel the guide off the backing. This is probably only an issue for the chevron pattern but I haven't tried the other designs yet.

Polishes used are China Glaze Shower Together (creme) and Nicole by OPI That's What I Mint (texture)

Shower Together is a teal creme with a perfect buttery formula. I used 2 coats. I love how glossy this one is! Of course, since its teal my camera refused to photograph the color accurately :(

Thats What I Mint is a beautiful teal texture polish with mostly blue and gold microglitter, and a tiny bit of green microglitter in there too. In real life it's seriously stunning. Definitely one of my favourite texture polishes and probably one of my favourite polishes overall too! It's running very low now I need a backup bottle! :'(

  1. Nice review on those nail vinyls. I actually bought some full nail vinyls from a shop but I have yet to use them.

  2. Lovely! I like the combination of the creme and texture polish. And I have to agree with the "strangely satisfying" feeling of peeling off vinyls, haha ;)
