Christmas Stamping

Hi everyone! I'm a bit late with this week's Twinsie Tuesday post but... It's still Tuesday at least! :) Today's theme is "Holiday Special"

I had to shorten my nails a bit :( my nails tend to break when it's cold out. I broke my middle finger nail... I managed to patch it with a tea bag and super glue but it ended up a bit lumpy so I'll have to cover it with texture polishes or chunky glitter until the patch grows out. I also feel like textures add a bit of strength to nails... My nails don't bend as easily as they do with just creme polish!

I started with two coats of Nicole by OPI My Cherry Amour a berry magenta texture with a bit of holo sparkle. Not a classic Christmas red but I think it still works!

Then I stamped with  Born Pretty Store BP-82. Use my code SL10k31 for 10% off! I had a bit of trouble picking up the thinner lines (around the stocking and ornament) and it took me a few tries (used my old red rubber Konad stamper). I haven't tried with any other polishes though to be fair and thinner lines tend to be a bit harder.

I ended up adding top coat to this... As much as I like the look of texture polish I find the tips wear off in a couple days and also it tends to look a bit dusty/dirty after a while. I knew I probably wouldn't have time to redo my nails this week so I had to!

What do you think of this mani? Do you like it more with or without top coat? Do you ever wear textures with top coat?

  1. Some super cute festive holiday stamping this is! I think I prefer it without the top coat though.

  3. So cute and festive!
I guess I like the textured version a little more, but the glossy one looks great, too!

  4. Lovely! I love the look of stamping over a textured polish - a technique I have yet to try myself!

    1. Thanks Sarah! Yeah I really like the look... Problem is it rubs off without top coat though :(

  5. Gorgeous mani :-D

Same thing happened to me - mind are really short. Had to do some surgery to save mine ripping off and causing a disaster! I must try the teabag method when it happens again!
