Just a simple swatch for today :) I got this polish for only $2 Canadian! Think this is one of the cheapest polishes in my stash! If you're in Vancouver BC check out Fascino Travel and Leisure 692 Seymour Street. Here's the rest of my haul from there.
Kleancolor Yogurt Raisins is a medium grey polish with tiny silver and black matte hexagon glitter. I love the colors... Perfect polish for a rainy day! Or anytime really it's quite neutral :)
Shown is 3 coats of Kleancolor Yogurt Raisins. I was a bit worried about the quality of a $2 polish but this wasn't too bad at all. It was actually almost opaque in 2 thick coats (just a bit of VNL in a few places) I would probably skip the third coat if I wasn't taking pictures for the blog.
The brush is round and kind of wide and "fluffy" if that makes sense... Like the bristles aren't densely packed together like say an OPI brush and the brush is fairly soft. I found the wide brush a bit problematic because the opening of the bottle isn't very big and the polish is quite thick. So I would try to take the brush out and wipe off the excess polish on the side, but then I would have to wait a little while for the polish to drop back into the bottle before I could wipe the excess polish off the other side... The fluffy brush tended to pick up way too much polish. Once I had the right amount of polish on the brush though I had no issues. The polish was thick but in a good way that made it easy to control and opaque.
The other thing I should mention with this polish is the smell... I'm pretty used to the smell of nail polish by now but this one was really strong and smelled different than other polishes... It smelled exactly like the Shoe Warehouse outlet to me... Like the smell of the chemicals they use to spray the shoes with or maybe the glues they use in the shoes. The smell also lingered for hours even after I used topcoat... It finally went away after I took a shower
Really nice grey polish this is. I know what you mean about the smell. I own a few Kleancolor polishes and the smell on them is so strong. But if there's some pretty colors I like from them, I tend to not mind it as much.
ReplyDeleteYa I don't mind too much I just open my window if it's really bad... I haven't used Kleancolor before so I wasn't expecting that smell lol
DeleteNice polish! Yeah, Kleancolor is known for their smell--so very chemically. I just won a raffle for three of them that was described as "pretty but smelly polish". :)
ReplyDeleteI do like the polish a lot! It's my first Kleancolor though so I wasn't expecting it haha
DeleteIt's nice I do like it. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe Kleancolor smell doesn't bother me, some of them smell like being at the hair dressers lol! But they do take forever to dry. I know a lot of people do mention the bad smell!
The smell bothers me but I can live with it... Really can't stand the slow drying time though... Even with fast dry top coat it takes a while to dry :(
DeleteVery nice gray shade and I love the glitter particle in it! They make this polish more special!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Ya I love the way the glitters go together with the base color :)
DeleteGorgeous colour.
ReplyDeleteRainy muddy colours like this on my nails make me smile : )
Thanks! I like most colors on my nails haha :)
