OMD2 - 31DC - Negative Space (23rd)

I'm not really a huge of Negative Space manis... sometimes they're okay on other people but I don't think my nails look that great naked so I like to keep them completely covered lol. I went with this design inspired by Kristin aka Lacquer Style. I didn't bother with any tinted polish to hide my stains since I figured so little of my naked nail would be showing anyway.

I this is a pretty simple mani. I just placed some striping tape before painting with Layla No. 24. I found this polish was actually a bit too runny for a striping tape mani. The polish would move into the area where the tape was right after I peeled it off. I actually had to let the polish dry a bit before removing the tape. I ended up fixing a lot of my lines with acetone and a small brush. I then went over the middle stripe with Sinful Colors Green Ocean. I just freehanded this part so there is a bit of flakies on the negative space area but oh well. I've been wanting Green Ocean forever and I think it looks just stunning over black! It looks even more stunning matte! Take a look! :)
