Monday Blues + Born Pretty Store Round Cross Hatch Studs

It's been a long time since I did a Monday blues post! I don't think I'll be posting Monday blues regularly since I'm only posting about twice a week right now and that would be half my posts... But I do really enjoy blue polishes so I'll try to do Monday blues every so often :)

Today's blue polish is from The Face Shop GR506. It is definitely one of my favourite polishes... The formula is really good... Like butter! Only 2 coats... It is quite pigmented but doesn't stain :)

Here's a closer look at the studs I'm wearing from Born Pretty Store. Use my discount code SL10K31 for 10% off! I really like the gold with diamond cross hatch kind of pattern. The back is curved.

I think these were too big for my nails though... I think they would look better on someone with longer nails. I also found that these weren't curved enough (side to side) for my nails so the sides were sticking up a bit. These didn't stay on my nails very well... I had 4 studs on (one on my middle and ring finger on both hands) and lost one stud the first day, two the second day, the last one stayed on until I removed it on the fifth day. To be fair though, I think these are designed to be used with acrylics or UV gel so it would probably hold the studs better than just normal top coat.

To stick on the studs I applied top coat, waited until it was about half dry, and then stuck on the studs. I found it easiest to pick up the studs with my finger (like you would pick up a contact lens) and then touch my semi-wet nail to the stud (to avoid accidentally dropping the stud in the wrong spot). I finished by applying another coat of top coat seal in the studs.
