Nude + Gold Glitter + Black Swirly Stamping

Thank you all for leaving me such nice comments! I'm finally caught up on replying to all of them! Sorry it took me so long!

My nails on my blog hand keep breaking so please excuse the different lengths and shapes :( I have no idea why but the nails on my Cinderella hand are actually in much much better shape somehow... I haven't swatched anything since last summer so all my nails are subjected to nail polish remover and a new mani equally often. I think I might switch to photographing my Cinderella hand if I'm just wearing a plain polish... I can't do much in terms of designs with my non-dominant hand though

Today's mani is inspired by Gwenn of Sugar Nails who was inspired by Colores de Carol :) Unfortunately I don't own any gold leaf top coats so I used Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow instead (2 coats). Base is 2 coats of China Glaze Candlelight. Stamping plate is QA89 from Born Pretty Store. You can read my full review of this plate here. Use my discount code SL10K31 for 10% off! :) stamped with Konad black stamping polish.

I'm not that happy with the way this came out. I think the stamping design covers too much of the nude/gold glitter base. I wish I had a swirly stamping image with more space between the lines if that makes sense. I also smudged the stamping on my index finger... and ruined the base on my pinky by stamping on it too early (that's why my pinky is not in the picture if you were wondering lol). Also I was trying to position the stamping so it has a wrap around vine kind of feel but some of my coworkers thought that it had chipped in large chunks from far away :( Oh well I think conceptually this was a good idea... I'll give it a try another time with a different stamping image

What do you think of this design?

  1. I'm glad to see how you redid this manicure ! And thank you for mentionning my blog <3
The glitter you used make a very different effect compared to the gold flakes I and Colores de Carol used, but it's really nice ! Now I think of doing this mani again but using some colored classic round glitter :)
And I don't agree with your coworker, it doesn't look chipped !

    1. Thanks Gwenn! Ya I don't have any gold leaf top coats :( if I end up getting one I'll definitely try it again! Oooh over coloured glitter would be interesting I might try that sometime too! Glad to hear you don't think it looks chipped haha that definitely wasn't the look I was going for!!!

  2. I've always wanted to stamp a lacy design over a nude base so its great to see you do one. It may not have turned out the best but its still pretty.
