Mod Blue Colorblock

Hi everyone! I decided to do a Monday Blues post this week since I haven't done one in forever! This is inspired by this mani by Dorra @didoline but I'm not that happy with the way this turned out. The tip guides I used were too wide although I guess it still works as a colorblock mani... just doesn't really match the inspiration. Also I maybe should have stuck with the original color scheme... The blue doesn't fully cover the black :(

I started with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Whirlwind White as my base and then painted half of each nail with Avon Rapid Black. I decided to just freehand this part to save time.

Once my topcoat was fully dry I applied these French tip nail guides from Born Pretty Store. Use my code SL10k31 for 10% off! Then I painted over with one thick coat of Essie Make Some Noise.

Make Some Noise is a bit thin but very pigmented. I wore it alone on my thumb and it was opaque in 1 coat in some areas but I needed a second coat to even it out. It wasn't watery and was quite easy to control. This did stain my skin blue but came out fairly easily when I scrubbed for a few minutes with baking soda.
