Saran Wrap Mani with Color Club Bright Night + Abyss

I didn't have anything ready for Monday Blues of August so I dug out some old unposted pictures... is that cheating? =p I've been busy getting ready to go back to school and just being a bit lazy I will admit... These pictures are from back in May when I went to Beijing for 2 weeks. I only brought 3 polishes with me (!) ... these 2 plus Essie Tart Deco and base coat and top coat. I somehow survived... I was in the mood for something other than just a plain color and with my very limited supplies this is what I came up with. I'm pretty happy with the way these came out. Kind of reminds me of the earth with the shades of blue and green... I think I have some book about the earth from when I was a kid and it looks something like this

I started off with 2 coats of Color Club Bright Night (blue). I then used crumpled up pieces of a plastic shopping bag to create the pattern using Color Club Abyss (green). I did this a bit differently than most people do Saran Wrap manis. I put a few drops of Abyss onto a piece of scratch paper and then dipped my crumpled up plastic bag into that and then dabbed onto my nails. I found that it was a bit less messy this way than by painting onto the nail and then dabbing off.

Sorry about the chipping in this picture! It was a few days before I managed to take decent pictures of this outside. I think the color shows up better in these pictures than in the pictures I tried to take in my hotel room.

  1. Love saran wrap manis and I love this one! It's also a great diy idea because it's a type of nail art you don't need any special tools for. Great job!
