OMD2 - 31DC - Ombré (19th)

Ok one more post before I go to sleep to try to catch up! I find picking colors for ombré manicures so hard! I have a million shades of blue but I still struggled to pick colors that would make a nice ombré. It's so hard to find shades that are just lighter/darker than each other without also being more green/more purple/more dusty etc.

I ended up only finding 3 colors that I was happy with together so I used them as stripes on my accent nail so I would have 4 nails in this mani lol

Polishes Used (lightest to darkest)
Layla - No. 23 (white)
Orly - Snowcone x1! amazing that such a light color is a one coater! :D
Essie - Mesmerize x2
China Glaze - First Mate x2

It's not too late to join this challenge! Full rules here

  1. Really nice ombre. I would like to try to do one too but I don't have colors that really work well for it.

    1. ya it's really hard to find the right colors! blues can be more green/purple/grey so it's really hard to find ones that are the same just darker/lighter... I know China Glaze put out ombre sets though if you can find them! the colors are all pre-matched :)

  3. This is so cute! You picked colors that look great together, and I like that you tied them all up with your accent nail. :)

    1. thanks Yun! I was actually annoyed that I couldn't find a fourth color (all my other blues were either too green/purple/dusty etc to fit in) so the accent nail wasn't really planned... it was just the way I came up to fill up the last nail :) I think it ended up looking better this way though vs. if I used 4 different blues :)
